The Gulf of California had experienced a long period 2014–2020 of anomalous warm sea surface conditions and decreasing sea surface chlorophyll-a concentrations compared with 2000–2013 period. The implications of such anomalous conditions on different ecosystems of the gulf remains basically unknown at this time scale.Go to get my presentation diploma

The Gulf of California had experienced a long period 2014–2020 of anomalous warm sea surface conditions and decreasing sea surface chlorophyll-a concentrations compared with 2000–2013 period. This web workshop intent to gather students and experts interested to integrate information to evaluate which is the current ecosystem health status of the Gulf of California and investigate resilience under likely prolonged climatic anomalies in the future.
Rationale of the web workshop: Satellite mean Sea Surface Temperature show a positive anomaly comparing 2014–2020 against 2012 (A,C) and a prolonged Sea Surface Chlorophyll-a concentration comparing the same periods (B,D). The main question of the web workshop which is the ecosystem response to such climatic changes in the Gulf of California?
During the third day (Nov 20, 2020, 18:00 h Mexico City time) we will have a discussion section analyzing the main conclusions of the web workshop and additionally to discuss and organize a publication of the results obtained during the web workshop and organize the present and future scientist research work as independent review or original research articles to be submitted in a special issue in an special issue of an international journal JCR Q1. This decision will be decided by votation with the participants interested to submit a manuscript.
